Bureau Veritas Hellas participates in the exhibition with brand and products awareness activities. On Monday the 13thIgnatios Litsas, CER Process Optimization Manager and Lead Auditor, participates in the round table discussion of the Zero Waste Lab, contributing with the presentation of the Bureau Veritas Food Waste Management System certification scheme.

Food Waste Management System certification refers to any operator in the food supply chain: primary producers, food-processing companies, large distributors, wholesalers and points-of-sale, collective caterers, logistics companies, etc.

Implementing and improving a Food Waste Management System contributes to the:

  • Optimization of the food production processes by minimizing risk of loss and waste.
  • Reduction of the economic impact of food loss and waste.
  • Support of the alignment with EU "Farm to Fork" strategy and with UN SDG12 to halve global food waste per capita by 2030, as well as to conform to the national legislation on food waste management.
