Bureau Veritas Hellas Certifies TEENS school

Sep. 21 2023

The sector of education and training aims in setting the foundations of society and the economy.

The maritime industry expands, evolves, and adapts to the new regulatory and market requirements, focusing on energy, environmental and safety aspects, among others.

What Is The City But The People? That means that the relevant needs on human capital expand, evolve and we must adapt.

Cpt Panagiotis Tsakos transformed that market need into a personal vision and in 2018 Maria Tsakos Foundation established in Chios Tsakos Enhanced Education Nautical School (TEENS), the first non profit private maritime secondary school in Europe.

Under a multi – stages assessment process, Bureau Veritas Hellas certified TEENS’ Quality Management System as per ISO 9001 requirements in September 2023. As a matter of facts, TEENS is the first nautical school in Greece acquiring ISO 9001 certification.

On September the 13th , Mrs Paillette Paliologou, Vice President of the  Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore Division for South East Europe, Black Sea & Adriatic Zone awarded the ISO 9001 certificate of TEENS to Cpt Panagiotis Tsakos, during the new school year opening ceremony, with the presence of Bureau Veritas Hellas Industry and Facility team, distinguished guests and of course TEENS teachers, staff, students and their families.

Bureau Veritas Hellas will remain by the school’s side through the surveillance audits, to contribute to TEENS route to excellence and contribution to the continuous course of Greek Shipping Industry.
