"12 Golden Pearls" Award for the new cruise ship "MSC WORLD EUROPA" granted by Bureau Veritas in Qatar

Mrs Paillette Palaiologou, Vice President Marine & Offshore Division, South East Europe, Black Sea & Adriatic Zone presented on behalf of Bureau Veritas to MSC the "12 GOLDEN PEARLS" award for the highest notations and certification for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) in cruise vessels. This recognition for the MSC WORLD EUROPA reflects adoption of an integrated voluntary scheme certifying compliance with the four highest international standards in the areas of: Marine Environment (ISO 21070); Health and Safety (OHSAS 45001); Food Safety (ISO 22000) and Energy Efficiency (ISO 50001).

Further notations granted are :

- Cleanship (Waste, AWT, NDO-2) preventing potential pollution to the air, to water and to reduce waste.

- (NOX-25%) applied to ships fitted with diesel engines having a weighted average of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission level, and

- (URN) Underwater Radiated Noise, the additional class notation aimed to manage and mitigating acoustical impact on marine fauna.

A significant addition with this award is the introduction of the Bureau Veritas notations LNG Dualfuel, High Voltage Shore Connection, and the innovative Fuel Cell demonstrator.
