What is the 14064-1:2019 standard?

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has developed a standard that addresses the need to outline a work methodology based on a scientific and systematic approach: ISO 14064-1.

The ISO 14064-1 standard aims to benefit organizations, governments, and other global stakeholders by providing clarity and consistency in quantifying, monitoring, reporting, and communicating organizational GHG inventories. The verification process proposed by Bureau Veritas includes a comprehensive process that features the following key steps:

  • Selection of the Verification Team
    Criteria for selection by area and type of process ensure that the verification of emission data is carried out by qualified and competent verifiers
  • Strategic Review
    Initial analysis of the Client's activities and processes, CO2 emission sources, the boundaries within which processes are considered, the monitoring structure, data management, and quality assurance of the same
  • System Review and Risk Analysis
    Critical evaluation of the management system and the measurement methodologies used. Analysis of procedures, documentation, and all tools used by the Client for the management of greenhouse gas emission data.
