"Following the development of quality and safety systems that are applied in the food industry, in 2007 MAKRO has adopted the International Standard EN ISO 22000:2005. This system specifies the requirements for a management system for the safety of foods on all the food chain range, from production to consumption, with main axes the mutual communication of all involved parties in the relevant procedures, the management of products, the pre-requisite conditions, the essential equipment and the principles of HACCP.

Always prioritising customer requirements, MAKRO made a step further in 2010, developed and applied the International Standard EN ISO 9001:2008 for the Management of Quality of Foods, in complete compatibility with EN ISO 22000:2005.

Thus, since the end of 2010 all MAKRO's stores are certified for both EN ISO 22000:2005 and EN ISO 9001:2008 systems."
